Chap. 4

The Jesus Creed as a Table

Tables Create Societies. The story of his son Luke and their guy only dinners.

The Table: A THICK WALL OF AN OPEN DOOR. When Jesus ate with Mathew's friends, the Pharisees were all up in arms because they were sinners. They accused him of being a "glutton and a drunkard", a phrase that was used to accuse a wanton son who could then be stoned. "We can now put together our first few chapters. Jesus teaches that the center of life before God is the Jesus Creed. When the Jesus Creed turns into prayer, it becomes the Lord’s Prayer; when it becomes a story, it becomes the Parable of the Prodigal Son. And when it becomes a society, it becomes the table of welcome around Jesus."

THE JESUS CREED AS A TABLE. Jesus' tab;e creates purity rather than requiring purity. What does the table of Jesus do?

  • The table heals. Jesus can heal people and he says he came for the sick, not the healthy.
  • The table envisions. The tables shows what the new society of God's kingdom will be like.
  • The table hopes.

WHEN THE JESUS CREED BECOMES A TABLE IN OUR WORLD.
