III. Berry distinguishes between the freedom of the community and the freedom of the individual. He makes arguments about how the two freedoms are in conflict and how individual freedom pursued its logical ends destroys communities. He spends several pages talking about the sex and how it has been degraded and turned into a life destroying commercial activity. His argument has truth in it (IMO).
IV. The current fad of pluralism is not helpful. A true community has to exist in a place and cannot be spread around. It is not helpful to identify as xxx-American (put in whatever xxx you want). Community is all about where, not who.
