We need a new standard if the current industrial economy is to be overturn. It is impossible to sustain—every human in the worlds cannot own the whole catalog of the junk that is produced. There is a standard.
The alternative is agrarianism. Industrialism is based on monetary capital and technology while agrarianism is based on land. The later is a subsistence economy before it is a market economy.
Berry talks about the difference between a global economy and a local economy. Good thoughts that challenge my thinking.
Berry is not hopeless, in spite of so far losing on average. He proposes a revolt of local small producers and consumers against the global industrialism of the corporations.
