The Jews were the first people to see history as having a purpose, a goal. That was a great gift to mankind.
How to Memento the Bible. By trying to understand the Bible from mementos, the larger meaning is obscured and even lost. Reading the Bible trying to find out “what it says to me” without understanding what the first meaning was leads to mis-interpretation.
Losing Our Way. Because we are story oriented, if don’t get our story from the Bible, we will fit pieces of the Bible into a story we get from somewhere else. <Lots of examples come to mind.>
Here We Stand, As Storied Creatures We Can Do No Other. "We are lords of creation and when we read the Bible well we start to see the world in fresh perspective. We ourselves become new creations, and then we become agents of new creation. We begin to live a completely different story."
