Performing the Storiented Bible

Chapter 8: Performing the Storiented Bible

The most important thing to do with the Bible is to read it.

Authority to Transform Lives. The Bible is an unconcluded story (drama) with us as actors. To some people’s discomfort, there is not script. We are called to be biblical improvisers.

Imagining Our Lives as Works of Biblical Art. God is the author and set designer of the biblical  drama and is also a key player in the drama. God’s response to the improvised plot when humans take it off course is interesting. Early on he blocks the development (or considers it) Later is “over accepts”. That is a technique we should learn in our roles in the drama.

Creative Fidelity. When we improvise, we can’t just make it up. We have to be creative and true to the script (creative fidelity).

Conclusion.
