Letters VII & VIII

Letters to Malcolm: Chiefly on Prayer.
Reflections on the Intimate Dialogue between Man and God.

Letter VII.

Lewis ponders whether petitionary prayer is OK. He says yes. then he talks about the determinism and predictability.

Letter VIII. Lewis responds to the news that Malcolm’s son has a medical issue. His letter focuses on dealing with suffering. He points out that creation is an act of separation and that maybe the people closest to God have the greatest separation. “To live in a fully predictable world is not to be a man."
