Think Little
The civil rights, the peace, and the environmental movement all stem from the same cause—the mentality of greed and exploitation.
The environmental crisis strikes close to home Everybody is contributing directly to the ruin of the planet. The pursuit of “affluence” leads to shoddy merchandise and seduction by advertising. “Our model citizen is a sophisticate who before puberty understands how to produce a baby, but who at the age of thirty will not know how to produce a potato.”
Out inclination to “Think Big” needs to be changed to “Think Little.”Mending out own ways starts the process of changing the world. For example, “If you are concerned about the proliferation of trash, … pick up some cans and bottles yourself.”
Growing a garden is a great way to become personally involved in curing the environment.
